Dear Drivers in Colorado,

If you are merging into my lane please put your signal on BEFORE I slam on my brakes.

If you want me to go faster and I'm already going 5 above the speedlimit: TOO BAD. Welcome to life. There's always someone who's going slower than you.

If you don't want to sit behind me in the right turn lane because there isn't room to merge yet, go turn left.

If you want to run a yellow light but I slowed down in front of you, please don't take it out on the bumpers of our cars.

When there is ice on the road, brake checking is no longer funny.

If you want to go 60 in a 50 when there's ice on the road I'm going to question your sanity and SAT scores.

If you see flashing lights on the side of the road it's understandable you want to peek at the accident or the speeder who got caught as we drive by. It is not understandable why you would stop, get out and take pictures. Traffic was moving until you took a scenic detour.

Dear Bicyclists in Colorado:

If you want to share the road, please share the laws. Red light means STOP. Green light means go.

When the city has provided you with your own lane please utilize it and not ours.

Flashing red lights also mean stop.

It is not appropriate to flip off a driver who was trying not to hit you when you cut him off.

It's called SHARE the road, not HOG it.

Please please please, for the love of Pete, his brother Bob and their dog Steve, stay off the highways! I DON'T WANT TO HIT YOU. Please move.

I had to come and look at this. In my hub on driving across the U.S. I mentioned that Denver had the worst traffic I'd encountered anywhere in the U.S. (with the exception of Houston). So, I'm not the only one who thinks so -- yeah! Love the photo of the bike lane obstructed with the sign telling drivers to look out for the bikes.

I think California gets a bad rap because they have a high number of accidents (but they have higher numbers in population as well) but Colorado drivers think they are the best. Think they can handle anything, think they are exempt from everything somehow. So no, you are not the only one who thinks there could be some improvement in the Denver Driving Skills Department :)
